Before the birth of her baby daughter, Gertrude Hartley looked out of her window every morning with the stunning view of the himalayas. She prayed that the beauty from the view that she saw, would some how go into her baby.
On the 5th of November 1913 in Darjeeling, India.Gertrude gave birth to a baby girl and named her Vivien Mary Hartley.
